I'm thrilled to share a new recipe with you: Grilled Beef Skewers with Djon Djon (Black Mushroom) Rice. Djon Djon is a unique black mushroom native to Haiti, known for its rich, earthy flavor that transforms any dish into a gourmet experience. And globally, not many people know about this magical culinary mushroom.

The beef skewers are paired with an escovitch-style sauteed vegetable medley, a vibrant and tangy preparation traditionally found in Jamaican cuisine, featuring marinated and seasoned vegetables.

This recipe is a homage to Caribbean culture and food, bringing together flavors that celebrate the diverse culinary heritage of the region.

As you might know, my birthday was on August 6, which is also Jamaica's Independence Day. Being both Haitian and a lover of Caribbean flavors, I am excited to share this opportunity with you to dive into the delicious world of Haitian cuisine.
